they're growing up so fast

They had a fabulous time together. Who knew that all the screaming and fighting would stop when the forbidden cupboard opens its doors and out comes all my tupperwear and plastic spills out on the floor.

They were so good together for the time needed to throw together dinner.

My babies are growing up so fast.

I have to keep reminding myself that they are only this age for so long, and that it goes by so fast. Rememebering Sadie at that age, I kind of get all teary. Its gone by in such a blur.

Gah, I'm an emotional mess. I'm slowing down, taking time to enjoy their baby curls, chubby thighs, and high pitched squeals.

busy

Its been kind of stressful and busy over here. I find that near the end of the day, all I want to do is have a bubble bath and crawl into bed. We're busy busy busy.

I've been neglecting my blog, and its bad. I miss writing and putting photos up. I'll get better. I'm going to devote some of my evenings to this sad blog.

I'm really wanting to make a quilted duvet cover. I need to collect some pretty material and make it happen. Anyone have tips on quilting? I'd so appreciate it. 

Daddy looks like a squid

 

I'm really trying to get all the outdoor activies crammed in before the rain starts up. We've been painting, and chalking and drawing a lot lately. Sadie's really improved on colouring things in, and she's doing her best to draw people. 

The chalk drawing of the circle with the lines in it was Daddy. Daddy looks a bit like a squid sometimes when she draws him, but she loves it. She comes running over to me yelling "MAMA! DADDEEE!!!" pointing at her work. 

I love it. 

The plan is to make her an indoor chalkboard this weekend, and a magnetic board for Lucas soon. Its been on my to do list forever.

Birthday Boy

 There's my cutie, at his party. I'm really sad to say that none of my other photos of his party turned out. I barely got any this time because guests arrived an hour early- they had to make it to 2 parties, so I couldn't get photos done fast enough of the decorations and food. I was scrambling to get it all done.

Very sad, but, it was an under the sea theme. Sadie loved it. She tried so hard to be the center of attention. My cute party girl.

Story time

We signed up for Little Bears Story time at our public library. Its for kids ages 1-2.5 so its perfect for these guys. Sadie loves it. So many kids to hug, theres stories and singing and dancing. After a song or two, shes totally in her groove and shaking it and spinning around with the rest of them.

I try and scope out some books before we head into the story time, and I found a bunch, including Red is Best. Such a good book.

The next day was beautiful, so we had our own story time outside. It was great until Lucas bullied his way into her chair. He loves his lawn chairs. So much so, that he needs to occupy both, always.

This weekend we celebrated his first birthday with the family. It was lots of fun. I didn't get too many photos. The weather wasn't the greatest, so it was mostly inside.  I'll post a bit about that later.
