hot days...

Today was hot out, hot enough to dry all my laundry, yay for saving money! Getting ready for my honeymoon, we booked the car, hotel and its getting exciting! Tony is also getting ready for school. He's applied for a student loan and now we shall see if he can get one with me working. We did work it out though and if he cant get much of a student loan we will survive, surviving on soup wooo!!!!

So today was so hot that Beth called and we went to the beach. I made lunch (sandwiches, juice boxes, chips and cookies).

The water was again pretty brown and full of fun things!

Beth started a trend amongst the little kids, cause once they saw her do this, they all copied her.

This was her creepiest face

She had my camera for a bit, and this is what she did with it...

Tony was threatening to throw me in

This was the sign where we set up our place, by a huge log. I got my camera back after that.

Do not get the photographer! YOU WILL PAY!

My sandy feet. I had sand in my shorts too.

Kathryn had a defective straw.

Tony really wants to do sailing, he wants a sailboat when hes done school. I wouldn't mind sailing either, I had lots of fun doing it at camp. My back and shoulders are burned, its time to be aloe vera-ed up.

Gardening with Miranda

Tony and I were riding the bus back home today and I took him to the plant store across the street. We were looking at the herbs, I really wanted a basil plant for my patio garden.
We browsed the ever so fragrant isle of herbs, checked out the cool fennel plant, and the curry plant. I kinda really liked the curry plant but decided against it. My fingers smell like licorice and curry though.
Tony picked out the rosemary tree and I found the basil after a longish search.

There they are! My new plants!

They taste really good, well, I only tasted the basil, but it was good!

That rosemary plant took a while to get out, he was rooted and all happy in his pot.

And now I am off to make spicy lentil soup and salad!

Her Bell

Tony was playing around with the zoom on his phone, but the bird was so cute. She has been doing this a lot recently.

Seriously...

I dont think I have to say anymore...

out and about

Finally had one! There was caramel, chocolate, and many different nuts all over my carmel apple. I didnt like the apple part as much, the rest was amazing!

He was eyeing it the entire time....

He liked the outershell of the apple as well.

It was pretty busy downtown today, with the fireworks and being saturday.

I like downtown, except for it being so busy. The bird is being extra nibbly and nibbling the cd case and Tony's phone. I am going to go now as the house is kinda a mess, but I will show off my new pants from Etsy later :)

Tony's Prank

1 hour and a half + 4 rolls of tinfoil = the awesomest desk ever!!!
Good job sweetie, you have done well!

its cloudy!

It hasnt been overcast and cloudy for a while. I have taken the sun for granted it seems.
Tony has been calling the bird a "he" and I don't like it, its getting on my nerves especially since he says "she" at first and then calls her a "he". I want him to give up, but he wont.

I was flipping through the channels and saw the Gorn on TV.

Painted another little painting for Tony. Its in the bathroom and I will get a picture of it when my camera returns or if the phone takes a decent one.

I have been browsing on etsy lately and been inspired to be more crafty. I have crafty plans to make magnets for my metal cupboards in the kitchen.

My neck has been sore lately, so I secretly stole Tonys pillows and I realized that yes, my dead flat pillows are the cause of my aches and pains I think. He was pretty miffed when he woke up with a sore neck and back. Time to get pillows :)

Helpful bird

Shes bringing me the laundry money!

stuck in canada

The family is traveling away to California... I am stuck here, its sad. I cant wait to see Aria's next blog with pictures! Saw the Dark Knight, it was really good. It was more graphic than the last one, and the Joker was amazing!

travelling home...

My bus ride home was pretty interesting. Things were pungent on the bus tonight. I sat beside a hippie lady who smelled like a million cats and terrible vitamins, 2 drunks and a man who looked like the nutty professor. Thank goodness my bus ride with them was short.

Work sucked today, got people who just didn't seem to get anything I was saying. Frustrating to also chat with someone who needs help, but cannot understand you and is using an online translator to try and interpret what you are saying. Him using the translator to chat to me was terrible in itself because I couldn't tell what he was saying and when I asked him to clarify, it just made everything worse.

Gonna see the Dark Knight with Tony and my Mom in law on Saturday. I have waited a while to see this one, it better live up to my expectations.

Time to go to bed.

free slurpee day?

Apparently the rumor is July 11th is free slurpee day. I really wouldn't mind getting in on this. Perhaps tonight I can get one, or before work. I love Pepsi and cream soda slurpees.

Behold! Clean!

You have seen my room at its worst Aria, but look and what I did now! BTW, its not all hidden in the closet either. Closet is organized.
Now all we need is a real bed and maybe a dresser...

Wall E

Was an amazing movie. I so loved it. We watched it last night with Tony's mom and Beth. It was like Beth's birthday dinner movie thing. She also loved it.
It was kinda cute, Wall E 's start up noise was my mac's start up noise :)
But before we went to the movie, we picked up some chocolate covered coffee beans, and Juno for Beth. We got the Tiger Peanut butter cups (the rocky mountain chocolate factory). mmmm tastey.

This is what I wish we had got. There was one in particular that was covered in mms.
Bird is being nasty today. She is running across my desk attacking my fingers and it hurts a lot. She wont stop either.

I love the smell of summer nights...

I love the smell of rain on hot pavement. Its such a sweet smell to me, one of my top favorites. I also love thunder storms. Its the perfect weather for lightning tonight. Its really cloudy, hot and muggy and when I walked outside after work tonight, I kinda figured it would be stormy. I love watching the lightning and hearing the thunder. The only thing I don't like is setting the digital clocks to the right time after the power goes out.
Aria was telling me Chilliwack had lightning, and an hour or so later, the storm arrived here :)

Came home to a grossly hot house. Why? Because Tony felt that the birds freedom was more important that airing out the house. Bird was pretty sad when I put her away to open the windows and turned on the fans.

Bedtime is soon.

Happy Canada Day

Exhibit 1:

Just look at this creature! This one has left her cave and you don't want to sneak up on her....

And now we see the creatures garden...it looks like this one has a green thumb. Hopefully this creature will water her plant life every few days and not forget. This creature seems forgetful.

We have seen this creature today hide in its cave, she doesnt seem to like the hot weather. She looks like shes laying there, trying to stay cool.

This creature also expresses herself in unusual ways, like crafting up a painting for its cave. Not typical for its kind. It has used crude tools to craft its art. Hopefully she will find better supplies to express herself.

This report is over for now, as the creature seems to have awoken and has caught my scent.

uggg hot

its too hot outside to do much. My trip to safeway was gross except the part where I got to stay in the air conditioning. My goal was to get stuff to stay cool. Got Popsicles, juice, and frozen berries...yum. I shall be drinking smoothies or iced tea all day long.
The bird is flying all over the place while I do this, but its nice and cool when get hovers infront of me. She's like a fan with her wings. She is also keeping cool by sitting in the shade, and I am spraying her with a spray bottle of water. I think she likes it.
I planted all my herbs in the big pot that dad brought over :) They are all watered and happy.
I was planning on going to the library...maybe later though.

SPIDER BITES!

I wondered why my leg hurt so much last night, I looked at it thinking it was bruised and there was a huge bite of some kind. I assume its a spider bite. So creepy to think about a spider cruising down into your bed only to chomp down on your leg. Its all red and red around the bite area. Oh well, maybe I will do the spider man thing and shoot webs from my wrists. That would be a benefit to the spider bite I guess.

In other news, this morning the bird was hanging around on the shower curtain rod while I was washing my hair. Shes tropical, and likes the steam/ spray of the shower. Well, since shes all independent and wanting to fly herself, she decided to take off. She landed in the water in the tub and got soaked. Tony rinsed her off because she fell in shampooey water. She smells nice like green tea and cucumbers lol.

Poor thing, she looked like she drowned.

Tony warmed her up, she was shivering. He put her in his t shirt on the bed and she was under the shirt for the most part, but then decided to creep out to chirp a little.

She looks really good now. I think I shall try to shampoo her or wash her a little every few weeks.

cookies

I made these today, and so far its the best recipe I have tried.
The last recipe I used was gross. The cookies were all hard and flat and puck like.
I like my cookies to be softer and a little thicker.
I found the recipe on the internet, its nestle's recipe for awesome cookies, and I love it.
(the yogurt container holds the rest of the cookies)

If you would like Aria, it is here:

Recipe:

1 cup (2 sticks) (226 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature

3/4 cup (150 grams) granulated white sugar

3/4 cup (160 grams) firmly packed light brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups (315 grams) all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups (270 grams) semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup (100 grams) walnuts or pecans, coarsely chopped (optional)

Mix wet stuff, and then add the dry stuff. Add the chocolate chips and then bake for 12 - 14 min at 375.

where'd she go?

I came home from grocery shopping, and noticed the bird disappeared. She has learned how to escape from her cage. I think its partly my fault because I didn't latch her door shut, but just shut it closed. Shes clever!

I found her, she is in her new favorite place. Perched on the top of our pictures. Yes there was poop on the frame, I was not impressed.

Every time her cage door is open, she hops out and takes off towards the pictures. She sometimes hops from one to another. I figured a new cuttle bone would make her happy, but apparently not as happy as she is up there.

So, I was at the store, and was checking out fruit. I bought a mango. I was half way home when I started thinking of what I could do with it. I know you can eat them fresh and in a smoothie, but what else can you do with them? Can you cook them into something? Does anyone buy mangos? Aria, do you know what you can do with a mango?

I shall ponder a while about this, and maybe check out what others do with mangos on the internets.

the Brain!

You would think that after a few tries of this program, they would get bored of it, but no, evertime they come over, they all ask to play with the photobooth program. Aria was having so much fun. Everyone loves it. Dad took this one of her goofing around.

what have I been up to?

Not too much. Haven't clipped the birds wings, Tony wanted me to cut her feathers. He obviously doesn't know me that well. If I cut them wrong, the bird could bleed out and die. Not gonna do that. I kinda persuaded him to not clip her wings. She has such a good time flying around. What really did it was when I told him and demonstrated that the bird has started flying out of her cage and on to my hands. She only went short distances, but he really liked that. Tony did get a little jealous because the bird only flew to me at first and not him. She now does it with him. Shes only going short distances, but today she went across the living room and wanted to land on my head. She hates my hair and decided to land on my computer instead.

I have also been painting. Nothing fancy, just some stuff Coley requested. The unicorn one is the second in a series of 3. Rob is wanting robots...not so sure on what to do with robots. Still have to finish those paintings too. I made a cute one for my kitchen, but I dont feel like putting a picture of it up yet.

Yes, I paint in the living room. This is why I have big cardboard boxes flattened out behind the couch.

I dont really like this little guy, I really need better brushes. I think I should hit up a better art supplies store to get some fine brushes.

Bird is really excited now, shes is flying all over the place, from her cage over my head to the computer and back. Shes a little more settled right now chewing on the ipod rubber cover. I should really be calling the bird a "he" but I cant get used to it even if it is a "he". I guess I will just have a gender confused bird.

baking day

Mikaela came over this weekend.
We had a blast.
Went shopping at her favorite mall, checked out the hello kitty store, the mac store (looked but it was too busy for me), and all the other stores out there in the mall. Really wanted to do build a bear, but decided against it.
We carried home my mini muffin tin tray thing and pretty towels and then got right to making cupcakes!
Its one of our favorite things to do!

These are for mom and dad :) They brought Watermelon for us and I haven't had watermelon in forever. Its a little hard to pack that in a backpack and try to take it home :P
Anyways, I need to clean some more.
