He's dead Jim...

That's right, he's dead. My computer's harddrive died a few days ago. Stupid computers!
Now I have to actually think of whether or not I want a new one, I might just see if I can get the Harddrive backed up and get a new harddrive. I have been hating my computer however, it annoys me, its loud and clunky. Laptops seem so much funner and better. I had so much music on that stupid thing and it was only a couple months ago that I had to do a recovery. I think this desktop computer is done for me.
Now to persuade Tony to spend money on a new laptop...possibly a mac laptop or dell and we shall see how this goes.

It came!!!

Its so cute, and its better than I expected when I opened the package. The seller said that it was dusty because its been sitting in a box since the 80's ish. LOL its amazing!!!

All the pieces are there, they are clean and fit awesome!! He he he he! Maybe I will play with it in the tub.... nah.

ahh the smell of paint!

I have been missing art and after being at the Vancouver Art Gallery, I decided I should get back to it and paint. I loved painting in high school, I love all the pretty colours of the paint, I love mixing my own colours, and I was very excited when I went into the Dollar Store near Tony's work the other night. They had stretched canvas, paints, canvas boards and all kinds of craft stuff.

I grabbed a few canvas's and some paints and home we went.
I started looking at the colours I had, just picked out red, purple, white, yellow and orange. The store didn't have all the colours of my rainbow but enough to play around. After playing around and not getting anywhere I got a little discouraged.

I have paints in my craft drawers in my room! PERFECT! Found a huge bag of them!!! YAY!
More than just reds and oranges, I had most of the rainbow!

Now my friend Coley loves unique art and she wanted something black, red and white, like the scheme of her new living room, she also likes unicorns.

I made it all tonight. My sense of humor is warped, but there is another piece in this set coming, its bigger and more graphic, I might even give a warning for it, nah....it should be fine.

There is a little red glitter for a cool effect, I wish the camera on my phone is better so it could capture it. :) Anyways, more art latter.

Presenting : Banana Bread!

I was bored today, my bananas were looking pretty brown and sad. Very sad actually.
I bought them to try and eat but I dont really like them plain anymore.
I knew I shouldnt waste them or stick them in the freezer or they would be cold and would never return from there so I made banana bread.

I wish I could try it now, I haven't made it by myself before so I am a little nervous. It looks alright, but still, we shall see...

Other sad news, my computer is dying. Its telling me that I need to configure it or choose something to boot from. It sounds like its hard drive is dying. It works for a little while but then it dies after an hour. At least I can back up my stuff before it truly goes.

So I have been checking out the various different computers out there, not going to buy one yet, but just browsing.

I like this one, its pretty and I love dell computers. The downside, it comes with Windows Vista, and I am just not liking that operating system, they made it feel like a mac os but with all the crap windows has and thats just asking for trouble.


Now this is a sexy computer, yes you can call them sexy in this case. Its downside is that its a desktop and its a mac. Most macs have the power to run windows as well, as long as you buy that version of windows, so this does intrigue me. Tony is even interested in a mac, but from more of an engineers point of view. I like them because they are better for the things I want to do like the arts and entertainment stuff.

Cute Moments with the bird

I caught Tony and the bird being cute. He loves his bird, she is quite content sitting on him. She sang today really screetchy like when there was a staticy like song on, but as soon as I switched it to a mellow one, she quieted down and made small cute chirps.

Awww. But now he put her on my head, and I could have killed him. He kisses her face, and she turns her head towards him and opens her beak a little, like she wants to bite his lip instead.

This is Aria chopping veggies for our stirfry. It was really good with a sweet brown sugar soy sauce with garlic and ginger. I love ginger in stirfry!

Whats cooking good lookin?

Well....I am kinda sick of the stuff I have been cooking recently. I have cooked fish and veggies and stirfry but I am kinda bored of all that. I don't wanna make chicken stew and I have been thinking of meatloaf, but besides that, does anyone have a good dinner ideas that use ground beefs or noodles or farmer sausage (doesn't have to be all mixed together either lol).

Anyways I am going to go do my hair, actually this episode of a baby story looks interesting, this woman shares the same huge fear of needles as I do. Hmm might have to watch a little of it, except the needle parts, I always squint or look away then.

forgetful

Someone left their house keys at home today....grrrr. He also left his new ipod, but I guess I shall borrow that for today, it can be his punishment for leaving his keys at home. Its sooo nice outside! I might just wear my flat shoes and hope it doesn't rain on me.
I sold my first item on eBay, it was a deck of eBay playing cards. Ya $4.00 in the bank lol. Cant wait to sell some more stuff.

The bird likes the clicking noise of the keyboard. She click click clicks across it and if Tony moves her, she runs across it over and over again.

Happy Late Valentines Day!

It was a good valentines day yesterday. We celebrated it yesterday cause I worked until 12:30 on the actual valentines day. Tony woke me up by trying his hardest to place some roses beside my head. When I woke up to the crunching of the paper, he was all upset that he couldn't surprise me.
He brought me the Becoming Jane movie yesterday after work! Even though he despises those types of movies he got it for me. I know he wont be watching it with me because he makes fun of it and ruins those types of movies.

When I woke up this morning I the bird cage was left open (Tony :P) and the bird was on the very edge of her door looking at me like she just came back from an adventure. She must have adventured beside the heater, she loves that spot. She flapped her wings at me and sqawked before taking a few steps towards the cage.

Bird is now in my room on Tony. He felt she should have a real adventure since I was writing about her, and so let her fly in our bedroom.(She is not normally allowed.) She was on a slippery dvd case and I tipped it and she slid flapping her wings. She bit my thumb to keep from falling off.

The internets/cable guy is leaving now which means I should be able to post this. yay!

Introducing Killer!

She isn't as fierce as her name, shes cute. She loves Tony. She squawks at the other birds outside, and I found out she doesn't like standing in a small puddle of water.

When we got her, she came in a happy meal box. She tap tap tapped on the bottom when I was holding her in the car, she wanted to escape!

She is quite content to sit on Tony's shoulder while he is in the living room. She also loves the heater, she sits under it and is content until we move her. Shes cute, shes a quiet bird unless I play the Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani, then she grooves to the music with me.

The things I wont miss about Alberta

-the negative 28 degree cold
-the wind that makes it colder
-the way my snot freezes in the cold making me feel like I have icicles in my face

I will miss:
-the wind (yes I said I didnt like it, but I do when its the nicer chinook wind we had today)
-my family
-the goodtimes and many stories that made me laugh so hard

I have had a good trip, I am glad to be leaving for home tomorrow. I miss my mountains, the lack of snow and even the rain.

I had a great phone call from three of my closest friends. Coley, Doug and Rob. After that phone call, I felt sooo loved, and it makes me want to come home sooner :)

negative 24 degrees and going lower!

Yes, I am writing this from my motel room in Lethbridge Alberta. Its freezing, haven't been in this type of weather since I was last out here when I was 8 years old.
The Rogers pass was coldest at negative 29. BRRRRR! Didn't want to leave the car really, but needed to stretch my legs.

Saw some very impressive icicles on the way up, as well as up close.
Yellow ones were really neat.

I did forget to mention why I am out here with the family. My Great Grandpa passed away early this week and we travelled out for the funeral. He was 101 or 102 years old, cant remember which. He was pretty coherent up until the last days.

So I am going to finish Iron Chef America the Goat Challenge now, and call my husband who is alone in Vancouver with the exception of our new family member. :)

Electrified!

So last night at 12:00am ish I was downtown by Broadway and Granville waiting for my bus to arrive, it was cold, there weren't many people around, a couple girls were waiting with me. Saw a electric bus pass, saw the cool sparks as it went by, nothing crazy. Things got crazier after the second bus passed, it was not in service, but as it went by I heard a huge BANG! and then saw a flash of light. The cable snapped and hit the ground moved a bit and then stayed still. Sounded kinda like a gun shot, freaked me right out. Well, the bus driver got out alright, my feet felt weird but other than that, it was kinda cool. Stopped the traffic for a while, then I caught my bus and went home.

noticable things...

As my friend Coley and I were walking to work she mentioned to me that it was hot outside.
Really, is it hot? Well we both agreed that since the sun was out we should call it hot outside because walking in the shade made it a little cooler. Makes us both excited for the summer! Cant believe I am talking about summer in January! I am loving the weather however, its been grey and gross for too long. I am just hoping my rain boots come soon so I can keep my feet dry for when this weather goes grey.
Tony left his keys at home today :P Silly boy. Oh well, that just means I get to meet him at work and maybe have lunch with him :)

Learning to cook...

Well, I kinda know how to cook, however I have tried something new that I have never done before--- Stew!

I recieved a crock pot / slow cooker however you want to call it for Christmas from Aria. I also got a great cookbook on slowcooking recipies from Matt and Katie!

I have been wanting to test it out for a long time, and while I was cleaning the kitchen, I was checking a few recipies to see what I could make.

Today, I am making Chicken Stew.

It is simmering in the pot and has a few hours to go, however I shall post its progress now for you all to enjoy.

Such a pretty crock pot! I have to wait a few more hours, but thats alright, Tony is still working, and will be home probably just in time. :)

I am excited for him to come home because I want to eat stew and watch the Bourne Ultimatum with him. I am hoping to come out to Chilliwack soon, but not this weekend, I need new shoes badly and Tony needs jeans. Shopping day is tomorrow!

Enchanted....

So today, Mik and I travelled to the mall and saw Enchanted. It was super cute, and really girly. It had a pretty basic plot and all, but it was just like a Disney Princess movie.
I loved Giselle, she was the best by far, the other characters were alright.
Jennifer, you should really take C to see it, I think you both would like it. I was in the theater looking around, and there were only 2 guys there. One father with 3 little girls all about the age of 6 and then an older man with his wife. I remember being in a movie like that before, it was the Ya Ya sisterhood thing. In that movie, the whole audience cried, and one poor guy was suckered into going with his girlfriend, who was sobbing.
LOL I know not to bring Tony to one of those movies. I made him watch Pride and Predjuice (I cant spell it to get the spell checker to make it better) and he almost ruined it for me. I had to watch it with my mom and sister to make it all better.

After the movie, I was wondering around the mall with Mik and we just had to see the sales at the Body Shop. Mmmm satsuma body butter. I love that stuff, and bought some. Now I am sitting here smelling like nice oranges. Tony made fun of it a little, but he likes it. Also, found some cool tea tree oil stuff for my face, maybe it will help my acne. :P

I shall go to bed soon, I have to work tomorrow :(

kinda have nothing to say...

I felt compelled to blog even though I don't have much to say. Its been a while and I feel guilty just reading other blogs.
Christmas was good, got a ton of bath stuff. The coolest stuff by far was a bubble bar from Lush. It smells like berries and made lots of bubbles and the water was pink.

Watched Harry Potter 5 and disappointed myself when I watched it. I imagined parts that I really wanted to see actually in the movie, however those scenes weren't in the movie. So sad, but it was an alright movie.

new years was good, had Ian and Beth over and we played Guitar Hero, Mario Brothers, and watched a movie. I had fun, but didnt like the after mess. :P

Throwing out shrimp is bad when you dont empty the garbage right away....ewww the smell of dead fish was gross.

Mik is over today, we are going to see "Enchanted" at Oakridge. It looks super cute.

I am going to go get ready, I have another suprise to blog about hopefully this week :)

OWIE!!!

I hurt.
I cant remember the last time I fell hard but I did today.
I was really excited about getting my package -- the nativity scene.
Waited in line at the post office for 20 min.
So I was on my way to work with the package in hand, and there was my bus, it was getting ready to leave.
I raced down the hill with everything in hand. It was raining a little, no bid deal...
Thats when I felt my shoe coming off, it tripped me and it felt like I was falling in slow motion.
There went my parcel, and my purse and umbrella. Fell almost on my face really.
Skinned my hand, so bad that I peeled a chunk of skin off, it was almost off. I also really badly cut and scraped up my knee.
I noticed my hand right away, not my knee. A nice man picked up my package and there went the bus.
Got up, grabbed the package and my stuff, and said screw it, I am going home, and hobbled back home. Thank goodness I was only a few blocks away.
Once I got inside and saw my knee and the battered jeans, I cried. There go my only other pair of jeans. My knee had blood running down them and my leg.

Must ask Santa for another pair of jeans now.

I am home now, putting polysporin on my wounds and waiting for tony to come home with band aids so I don't have to see the hideous cuts.

Disappointed because my scene is missing a sheep and a little boy figure, but oh well, its mostly complete and its on my bookshelf! I am happy with it anyways.

Must finish Christmas Shopping....

I keep thinking that I need to get this done this week. I hate leaving it all to the end, especially the harder presents! I have a list made, but now I just need to get it all done. So I guess its off to the Pacific Center after work...not bad, its not too too far away. In other news, I watched Nanny Diaries last night. It wasn't bad, although I liked the book way better. I also rented Shrek 3, and Tony and I are going to watch that one tonight! Yay!

I was in Chilliwack on the weekend and my Mom, Mikaela, and Katie went to camp with ingredients and baked in the kitchen. It was fun, made gingerbread men/cookies, sugar cookies, apricot balls, truffles and nanimo bars. I have the truffles hidden, as Tony has now tried one and decided he really likes them.

Oh man, I have been watching Iron Chef America, and I love that show. I saw the lentils one and the tofu one. Tofu one seemed really gross, but I could have eaten the lentils stuff. They made tofu ice cream, this is why I was turned off by it.

What else is new....ummm not much. Excited about Christmas, and excited about seeing Shrek 3. Oh! Must get Christmas carols! I haven't heard much of those, and I miss them. Still haven't received the Nativity scenes yet, but they should be here soon!

Oh and Mom, I found the Noahs Ark Tupperware toys on ebay!! Oh I so would like to get it for Brittany's baby!

My hair wasn't always this curly. It was wavy for the longest time and then it became fuzzy and horrible, and then I had bangs, and I had to use hair clips and clip them down on the side of my head and hairspray them to death and sleep like that so they wouldn't frizz.

I cant stand people who leave an inch of juice or milk in the container in the fridge. Waste of space and just drink it then!

Speaking of drinking, I am quite content with a small sized drink, I cant really drink anything in a larger size and sometimes cant finish the small sized drink

I hate public speaking. I would purposely be sick to miss any type of presentation in school. I still hate it now, and dread any type of work presentations or in general, attention directed at me.

I am in the habit of collecting dvds, especially ones that I grew up with. I own the Disney cartoon version of Robin Hood and Mary Poppins, along with Toy Story 1 and 2. I wish for the Little Mermaid as well as my own copy of Finding Nemo.

I have a bad habit of losing those.
I have gone through 29 of them (including the temporary ones...so it isnt that bad in my mind).

I have been very good with this new one, the gold is coming off the lettering like it does in the first few months, however I have kept it in my wallet, and not taken it out and left it in my jeans or coat pockets. That was how I lost the 28 other cards before that.

Oh, as I was browsing the internets I found the coolest bandaids!

Man, there were also ninja ones, unicorn ones, and pirate ones. My friend doug had pirate ones and they were awesome! These are sooo cool! Hint aria, I like these!

No snow!

There was supposed to be snow, and I saw it mixed with rain at work, and then nothing happened. No snow, no cool snowflakes, nothing! I feel ripped off. There was a promise of snow and nothing happened. Tony was pretty sad as well. I found a nice package of jujubes by the couch...they are mine now! MINE!!! I think I like red best. It tastes nice.

Going to visit the wack this weekend. Havent been there in a while, and I miss it. Havent seen the bunnies in a while, I kinda miss them. I miss the cats more however.

So for those of you who care, I found my moms nativity scene on eBay. I am bidding on 2, one for me, one for my Aunt whos one got damaged by water. All my aunts and uncles got this set, its cool


I want this set so bad. I don't really like the other sets out there, but this one is soo cool! Its from the 1940's to the 1950's and they don't make it anymore. I hope I win, I am excited!

What else is new...not much else. I get to use the gym at work now, fun! Saw the Die Hard 4 movie, it was cool. Tony thought of my dad when we were watching it. He told me at one point, my dad would do the same thing with flying a helicoptor. Tried to watch Hairspray, stopped half way through, wasnt in the mood for a musical. It was kinda cute I guess. I kinda want to watch the Sound of Music instead.

New decorations!

I have been so excited about Christmas, I have been making paper snowflakes and putting pretty glitter on them. I have made about 32 and hung them from the ceiling. They spin so gently when the heat is on.


I also went to ikea to get some neat things for my house. I only have one picture for now, but its of my pictures in my bathroom! They match the colours of my bathroom stuff perfectly! I have more ikea pictures, but they are for later :) I have started my Christmas shopping already and it feels good because I hate being rushed at the end in a packed mall full of other stressed out people. Has anyone else started shopping for Christmas yet?

The Budgie!

We went shopping today, didnt buy anything, just got some ideas.
Walking around, just looking, and then all of a sudden, Tony is like an unstopable force. He bee lined it right for the pet store. While most children and adults were checking out the puppies and kittens (which were brought in for Christmas, it kinda disgusts me how they do that, but whatever...)Tony went right to the back of the store where the birds were. There is only one kind of bird he likes, the common budgie. I have asked him why he likes just those, and not the pretty coloured cute finches or other birds. He told me that he cannot train a finch, however apparently you can train a budgie (I am not sure what you can get it to do, but its trainable). There was only one budgie left. I went and checked out tbe puppies instead, but man, my husband could watch those birds - rather bird, all day. We left the pet store because it was getting a little too crowded for me, and when we were leaving, Tony whispered to me "That bird needs me, he is lonely all by himself. He looked so cuddly and puffy." He was beaming, he was so happy to see the bird. From that moment on, Tony spent the rest of the trip home trying to convince me to let him have a bird. He kept thinking about the bird, and when he did, he giggled, he giggled so hard, he had tears in his eyes.
Its hard to say no to getting a bird when you see his reaction to watching pigeons on the street, or when he hears the neighbours birds next door.
I dont know though. He had a budgie before, and they smell, and squawk, and poop on things. Sitting on the fence as to whether or not I really want one in my house.....hmmmm.

The REAL Deal!

So I have eaten a fair bit of Chinese food in my life time. Its good stuff! I usually get it packed away in the round tinfoil like containers or like these here: I also watch tv, and felt so ripped off when the people on TV use the cute little take out boxes. They are so neat looking, it made me jelous to see them eating out of their cute little containers with chopsticks -- I can use chopsticks, but its not the same.
Well, Tony found me a place that puts their food in those AWESOME boxes! I went with him more for the box than the food, however the spicy Thai Pad noodles were awesome. Coconut Noodle Express has won my heart!


Boo to all the places with the tinfoil or Styrofoam containers, these are the best! This makes living in Vancouver better :)

halloween....

It consisted of us eating mini chocolate bars and watching dvds. nothing crazy happened. Tony did carve a pumpkin with 2 other friends at work. Now, you may see his creation.
When he described it to me on the phone, I pictured something way worse. I like its ears.

I was making dinner last night, and I heard a bunch of giggling and snorting.
Didnt know what was so funny.
Tony was sitting there hysterically laughing, he even snorted.
The boy was so excited to show me this picture. (keep in mind his favourite animals are birds).

The day mik came to town!

So I haven't done this in a while! Man!
So Mikaela came for the weekend last weekend.
She slept on my new couch.
She liked the couch!
We wore our fake hair!
We watched Recess! Oh man I missed that show!
Ate mac and cheese and weenies and soup and had fun!
Went shopping at metrotown. It was great! She had so much fun.
Surprised her by walking into build a bear and asked her to make one.
She loved the whole build a bear experience, I recommend it to everyone--yes its for kids, but man its cute and so fun!
She has a picture of her and her bear. She had that bear with her the rest of the weekend.
It was cute.
Then she got picked up and went home.
Work is alright, it kinda sucks, and only because I dont know everything and hate not knowing.

After dinner games....

So thanksgiving was lovely! We went to my parents place and had a huge dinner! Matt and Katie and Grandma Abrahams were all there as well. We were all kinda being silly (I think it was the turkey). The silliness went from making the crystal glasses sing, to showing everyone at the table you weird body tricks --- Aria's magic thumb, Tony's weird thumb, Katies funny face noises, Mikaela's eyebrows, and my great trick of really nothing. I am not double jointed or crazy eyed, or nothing. Oh well, its fun to watch them all do weird things.
Oh and then the clean up fun-- more like clean up torture. Even as the photographer, I got nailed a few times. I was unarmed and everything.

Katie got a bad one from Aria on her thigh...she was down for the count. Aria had a lot of practice in YWAM so she did dominate the kitchen. Someone got me right above my knee and it stung! They did try and gang up on Aria, but it was unsuccessful. I am tired, turkey tends to have a nice sophorific effect of me. I am going to watch tv, goodnight!

Moved in kinda...

I have offically moved into our own apt!!
YAY!
Tony walked in looked around and then looked shocked and said "We should have gotten a studio apartment, I am so not used to all this space." He was right in a way, it feels huge here. We had been trapped in a tiny bedroom for too long.
So, its nice. Got everything moved in a few car loads. Beth came with the car and we packed and cleaned. Then we went to the wack to pick up some dishes and wedding presents, the car was so weighed down then. Mom sent us with a big box of food--Thank you Momma again! We needed it!
I finally got to play with some cool wedding presents!! hehe new dishes are cool! wow, I am a dork.
Set up the bathroom and kitchen. I shall now show you a suprise that I found as I opened the drawer under the oven.

mmm grease and french fries and burnt bits....thanks messy lady before us. Oh well. To combat this evil, I came prepaired!

So here is another picture of my kitchen after it was cleaned.

Its kinda small, but its not bad. I made spaghetti last night, kinda just so I could use the pots and pans and all my cool stuff.

The ipod came on another adventure, this time it was providing excellent music to rock/cook to.
oh, and those mms are all pink! I love them!

I would talk more pictures but its too dark now, and the cellphone camera is just black.
(that one pic of the i pod and Tony in the background, well thats all we have in the living room, the desk and computer and boxes). I have a blanket on the ground, and its like having a picnic inside at dinner time lol.

Anyways, I shall go to bed now, I will be posting more pics of my apt later--the picnic spot! and our lovely view of the alley tomorrow.
